Why the 7v7 Format?
The 7-aside philosophy maximizes player actions in a realistic, game-like environment. It has proven to provide 36% more actions than in an 11-aside format while not changing technique or context of the game. Players’ opportunities to make decisions, execute meaningful touches, and solve complex game scenarios are multiplied in this modified playing arena. No more standing around waiting for the ball to come on your side of the field or in your area of play. Everyone is in the action all the time and all skills are transferable to the full-sided game.
-
What are the rules of 7v7?
Everything represents the full-sided match and all rules apply (throw ins, kick offs, keeper box etc..). Offsides is determined by an offside line vs the last defender (similar to hockey).
-
Tactically, how are players positioned on the field?
Both teams will have one designated keeper and then have 6 field players in whatever formation they wish to play.
